Are the mouron family one of the big mafia families in the west blue that bege was running from? We know brook is from the west blue like germa, so it would make sense. Some of the military titles in this chapter didn’t make a lot of sense to me at first, but the more i think about it the more interesting it is. What if instead of pirates, the main threat to kingdoms and civilians in the west blue is mafia raids? That way, each kingdom would need its own raid response captain, like brook. Very interesting potential for world building for the other blues outside the grand line in this flashback. Looking forward to it.  I just can't see imu taking shuri and making her a god knight unless she had some deeply important heritage. So, i'm going to take a stab at it here and say that esperia kingdom was formerly ruled by the nerona family before they ascended to mariejois as part of the first 20.

I think alabasta was the only case where a ruling family kept their name, we saw in dressrosa that the doldo family followed the donquixote's. Shuri may not be a direct descendent, but as royalty of esperia king maybe that's why imu took such an interest. It's admittedly not much, but imu's powers started to create music when he first arrived to elbaph so could that be something related to this? Whether that's the case or not, this flashback is going to be another wild one.

It's so crazy getting to see brook at 20 years old, it was 2008 when oda dropped the line about him being the leader of a country's battle convoy and here we are. I wonder if he accompanies the royal family to a reverie and that's where shit goes down? Can't wait to see.
