DC Comics Launch Superhero Podcast Universe on Spotify

Spotify announced a multiyear agreement with DC Comics and Warner Bros. to produce a slate of scripted podcasts revolving around the stories of fan-favorite superheroes and supervillains. A year later, DC’s Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee is giving the world a look into how the audio podcasts will bring a different dimension to the DC Comics universe. Lee teased the new prospect of a Batman series alongside other stories explored on the audio platform featuring characters like Superman, Lois Lane, Joker, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, The Riddler, Batgirl, Katana and even Harley Quinn.

DC Comics is currently working on nine shows for Spotify. The first project to come out of the Spotify and DC Comics partnership is Batman Unburied, which is said to explore the “darker aspects of Bruce Wayne’s psychology.” Over the years, competition and demand in the podcast space have evidently increased. Even DC Comic’s largest competitor, Marvel has also entered into its own podcast deal with Pandora, also hoping to bring its superhero universe into a different realm.

Nike Air Max Goadome X Supreme Collaboration

Ending its Fall/Winter 2020 collection releases just before the new year, Supreme has returned to reveal another collaboration with Nike (NYSE:NKE -1.36%) . This time around, the New York streetwear imprint has put together its take on the rugged Air Max Goadome. Made exclusively for Supreme, the collaboration will be offered in two colorways centered around a debossed snakeskin pattern.

The bold takes celebrate the silhouette’s timeless blend of form and function that is rugged enough for the mountains, yet practical enough for the streets. The upper of the rugged shoe features an overlay construction crafted of the snakeskin marked waterproof premium leather. Detailing comes in the form of synthetic leather lining, padded collars and tonal metal eyelets. Aside from the printed insoles, branding comes in the form of debossed co-branding at the tongue, mini Swoosh markings near the collar and “SUPREME” at the rear. Finishing up the design of the shoe is a soft foam midsole that works with the black Air unit-assisted ACG rubber outsole with an aggressive lug pattern for added traction, durability and a tough city styling. The Supreme x Nike Air Max Goadome collaboration will release on Supreme’s website January 14, 11 a.m. EST in the United States and January 16, 11 a.m. JST in Japan.

NOAH and adidas Craft Sleek SL72 and SL20s

NOAH and adidas have teamed up for vibrant takes on the SL72 and SL20 silhouettes. Both models come in colorways of “Blue” and “Black” that accentuate their sleek molds. The SL72 comes with a construction that resembles that of a Samba: a low-cut build that tapers around the toes. Stamped at the top of the tongue is a co-branded motif of a shell, reinterpreting adidas’ Trefoil logo, which sits just below a bold “NOAH” logo. The same graphic appears over the shoe’s leather heel counter, complemented by jagged Three Stripes branding along the sidewalls.

Besides ballistic nylon paneling along the body, the rest of the uppers come in suede, finishing off the shoe’s textured design. Boasting a slightly sportier look is the SL20, made up of a bevy of technical materials like mesh and nylon. A skinny ripstop pull tab is placed at the tongue, complemented by a set of flat laces that cover the forefoot. Bold rubber overlays appear over breathable mesh sidewalls, complemented by “SL20” branding thinly etched in gold. Other details like suede eyelet panels, mudguards and a crisp white midsole round off the sneaker’s finely crafted design. NOAH and adidas’ SL72 and SL20 are currently available on SSENSE’s website for $100 USD and $130 USD, respectively. In case you missed it, check out adidas and OAMC’s FW20 footwear collection.

Vans And Supreme Accent The Old Skool And Half Cab With Printed Logo Patterns

After last week’s selection of collaborative Nike apparel, Supreme has linked up with Vans another longtime partner for new takes on the Half Cab Pro and Old Skool Pro. Arriving in cream, blue and black colorways, each pair offers a branded spin on a classic skate silhouette. Steve Caballero‘s Half Cab offers a 5/8 cut and an upper made of canvas and suede, while the Old Skool provides a similar material mix with a lower, sleeker profile.

Each boasts a checkerboard-like Supreme text graphic in repeating horizontal and vertical lines on the Half Cab, this embellishment appears on toeboxes, quarters and collars, on the Old Skool it’s relegated to the quarters. Half Cabs offer branding via black fabric tags on quarters and tongues, Old Skools with a simple white Jazz Stripe. Each pair is then finalized by a black collar, black rubber midsole and traditional gum rubber waffle outsole. The Supreme x Vans Half Cab Pro and Old Skool Pro are both set to release on the Supreme webstore and at select retail locations on September 10. Supreme’s Japan outposts will receive their stock two days later, on September 12. Retail prices have yet to be announced.
