We know they've done undercover work before with garling scouting god valley as a place to hold their human hunting competition and him impregnating a woman while he was there. Queen candel's outfit resembles the regalia worn by other god's knights, and she's skilled enough with a sword to hold two very high ranking positions.

We've learned a lot about king reuven (is there an official source on how the name is spelled in english cause every translation i've seen spells it differently), that he loves his family and reflects on the differences between his privileged life and the impoverished one brook leads which shows a level of introspection that some other royals fail to do, but we really don't have anything on candel's thoughts and opinions of her family or what she thinks of the inequality in her kingdom. She enjoys the opera, which is usually an event associated with the upper class, but that's about it.

Shuri definitely seems to be closer to her father than her mother, at least from what we've seen on screen because there just hasn't been enough room for a full shuri and candel interaction or with both of them and reuven for their full family dynamic.

Since present day brook believes that shuri killed her father, though we don't know yet if she actually committed the act or not, it's entirely possible that candel was the one who murdered reuven and shuri was blamed by accident since she resembles her mother.

Shuri's name under the celestial dragons, gunko, means army child, so candel could've taken her daughter to mariejois afterwards and they did something to erase all memory of that day, then enlisted her in the god's knights. The god's knights did accept shamrock into their ranks, and he isn't a full celestial dragon by blood, so they probably accepted gunko the same way and erased her whole personality until she was nothing more than a soldier taking orders.

Also, the next two major character god's knights in the story after garling were shamrock and gunko, and their first actions in elbaph were inviting loki into the god's knights. Which makes all three of them legacies to previous god's knights (shamrock to garling, loki to harald, and now gunko to candel).
