In the spirit of the March Madness, Jordan Brand has elected to bless the collegiate hoop programs that it sponsors with a special Air Jordan 5 PE. The basketball squads of Marquette University, Florida University, University of Oklahoma, University of North Carolina (Michael Jordan‘s alma mater), Georgetown University and the University of Michigan are all set to receive their own unique pairs, five of which have punched their ticket to “The Big Dance.” The uppers of each college-inspired iteration are treated with full leather material that is marked by all-over elephant print.
The silhouette’s signature netted regions that are placed on the mid-foot and the throats are left with a translucent complexion, and each of the eye stays are presented in a tonal manner to blend in with its upper build. Lace toggles are predominantly clear but come accented with push buttons that match up with each school’s accenting hue and the tongues swap out the traditional Jumpman insignia for the institution logos. Stacked below this are crisp white midsoles and icy blue outsoles, all of which come color-blocked with the forefoot spikes that are each drenched in the proper NCAA tones. These are all exclusive colorways and will see a retail release. Elsewhere in sneaker news, A Ma Maniére released its ‘Raised By Women’ Short Film ahead of its Air Jordan 3 collaboration launch.
